The work of London Higher
London Higher has a fifteen year history of developing collaborations in higher education. It is a charity wholly owned by forty HE institutions (HEIs) based in London, with partners across the Greater South East.
London Higher currently supports three main collaborations:
- Case for London – maintaining a robust evidence base in support of HE in London
- AccessHE – developing a strategy for meaningful links between secondary schools and HE providers in London
- London Medicine & Healthcare – bringing together London’s schools of medical, dentistry, healthcare and associated clinical academic disciplines
London Higher also supports active groups of partners to discuss all the current issues affecting HE, including shared services, the student experience, Europe, healthcare, research excellence, estates and accommodation.
Staff at London Higher are expert in conceiving, testing and building collaborations between providers of HE. In most cases collaborations are managed in-house but, where appropriate, they become spin-outs, acting as free-standing social enterprises.
The outputs of London Higher are diverse and, as well as successful collaborations, include feasibility reports, consultancy, promotional material, meetings and workshops, parliamentary lobbying and receptions.
